The Telegram Registration Crisis: How Our Partners Solved the Unsolvable
The past few weeks have been quite turbulent for everyone working with Telegram automation. Our partners at BLB.Team (developers of Telegram Expert) went through serious trials related to the tightening of registration policies in the messenger. We at SMSBOWER closely monitored the situation and want to share insights about what happened and how the problems were solved. What Happened to Telegram Registration
Since late July, Telegram fundamentally changed its approach to registering new accounts. The main problem affected Android versions 11.13.x — after passing reCaptcha, SMS codes simply stopped arriving. This hit everyone involved in mass account registration.
BLB.Team reacted quickly and implemented a special SMS-hook to bypass the new restrictions. The solution worked on clients from versions 11.0.0 to 11.12.x, but was temporary. Effectiveness depended on the phone number's country — somewhere SMS delivery reached 90%, elsewhere it was significantly lower.
New Versions and Workarounds
From July 24 to early August, the team actively added support for new versions:
Telegram Android: 11.13.3 (60812), 11.13.3 (60819)In parallel, they worked with recommended versions for stable registration. The list included dozens of builds from 11.0.0 to 11.7.3, each showing different effectiveness depending on the region.
Mass Freezes and Their Causes
In early August, the situation became more complicated — mass account freezes began. Even accounts registered from regular mobile phones were blocked. It seems the problem was integration errors on Telegram's side.
Simultaneously, in some countries (Russia, UK, USA), reCaptcha was temporarily disabled, allowing registration even on the latest versions without using SMS-hook.
Message Forwarding Issues
A separate story relates to a discovered vulnerability in Telegram's protocol that allowed reading private group conversations. After the fix, forwarding functions were limited — particularly, sending reposts from one channel to another's comments stopped working.
The Final Solution: High Score reCaptcha
By mid-August, BLB.Team found a fundamental solution to the problem. The root of all troubles was that Telegram became more strict in evaluating Android reCaptcha during registration. A low score meant the SMS code wouldn't arrive.
On mobile devices, the situation was particularly sad — after 2-3 registrations, the phone stopped receiving codes, and even factory reset helped for at most a couple of attempts.
The solution was integrating High Score reCaptcha into Telegram Expert. The new setting allowed returning registration stability to previous levels.Working Recommendations
For maximum efficiency, the BLB.Team recommends:
- Use one IP throughout the entire registration. High Score works better with static or sticky proxies
- Always activate push tokens and specify email during registration
- Let new accounts "rest" for 1-3 days before active use
- Conduct testing before mass registration, especially when working with new countries
Our Conclusions
The recent weeks showed how dynamically the Telegram landscape can change. What worked stably yesterday can stop functioning today due to changes in the messenger's policies.
We at SMSBOWER value partnerships with teams that don't just state problems but actively solve them. BLB.Team demonstrated exactly this approach — from quick temporary solutions to fundamental rethinking of protection bypass methods.
For us as an SMS service provider, this situation was also a lesson. It's important not only to ensure quality number delivery but also to understand the context in which our clients use them. Changes in Telegram affected the entire ecosystem, and only through joint efforts can we maintain work stability.
If you use automation for Telegram work, definitely follow your tools' updates. And remember — quality proxies and numbers remain the foundation of successful registration, whatever new protections the messenger implements.
